Learning for the 21st century
At Mudgeeraba State School we understand that students are individuals who learn at different rates and have a wide variety of passions for their learning. Our job as educators is to harness the learning potential of all students so that they can achieve at the highest level possible.
It is our belief that for our curriculum to be responsive to the learning needs of our students it must recognise and celebrate diversity and engage all students in intellectually challenging learning experiences.
Our teachers plan learning experiences for the range of students in their class. They also provide explicit teaching to scaffold learning so that students develop and consolidate required knowledge and skills.
A clever curriculum
At Mudgeeraba State School we have developed a curriculum framework that is designed to provide our students with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to the complex society we live in. To achieve this we provide all students with a broad range of learning experiences across all key learning areas.
Our school has a particularly strong focus on the development of students’ skills and talents in the Arts. All students will experience a term of learning in drama, dance, music and the visual arts each year. Extensive opportunities exist for students to further develop their skills in areas of passion or interest through our instrumental music programs and extension programs in music, dance, the visual arts and drama.
Our expansive curriculum includes inter-school sport, camps, excursions and other co-curricular opportunities. We also offer an after-school coding and robotics class with the support of Little Alphas and Junior Engineers.
Online learning @MSS
Our preferred platform for online learning is Microsoft OneNote as this provides 24/7 access to classroom learning.
